The socialist revolution has failed; the social welfare is forbidden by the imposed neo-liberal transition formulas. The doors have been opened wide for the nouveau rich; the ruthless profiteers hungry for recognition believe that everything has a price and they can afford it. The complicated historical past of the Balkans affects the lives of our main characters adding another layer of complexity to their everyday life. Jas sum od Titov Veles is a sad story of a dissolving and decaying family. The rat race allows no love, no compassion but brings only confusion and destruction. Jas sum od Titov Veles captures these absurdities with painful honesty. Director: Teona Strugar Mitevska was born in 1974 in an artistic family in Skopje, Macedonia. She started her engagement with the camera as a child actor. Later she trained as a painter, continuing and finishing her BA in graphic design. She made her debut as short film director in 2000 with "Veta" (14"), which received numerous awards at the Berlin Film Festival and the Kiev Film Festival and which has since been shown at more than thirty festivals around the world. "How I Killed a Saint" was her first feature film, which was made under the auspices of the company she established together with her brother and sister.
