Synopsis:

Biography:
The New York Times included Milcho Manchevski’s film Before the Rain on its “1,000 Best Films Ever Made” list. Before the Rain also won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, FIPRESCI and Independent Spirit, along with 30 other awards, including an Oscar nomination. Manchevski has directed 50 short forms, three other features (Dust, Shadows and Mothers) and an episode of HBO’s The Wire. He has also won awards for his short (Thursday), experimental (1.73), music video (MTV and Billboard for Tennessee) and commercial (Macedonia Timeless) work. His films are part of the curricula at a number of universities worldwide.
Manchevski has published books of fiction, essays and photographs; he has also taught extensively, most notably as the Head of the Directing Department at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts: Graduate Film and at VGIK in Moscow where he was awarded an honorary doctorate.
All of Manchevski's films have won international awards. They have screened at more than two hundred festivals, and have been distributed in close to 50 countries (theatrically, TV, cable and video).
