Synopsis:
Macedonians in Istanbul is about the citizens of Istanbul who are the fifth generation born in the city. As foreign workers, their ancestors from Macedonia moved to Istanbul in the 19th or early 20 century. Christian Orthodox by religion, they observe their festivals and holidays at several sacred buildings which are still being used in the city for that purpose. The members of this colony, mainly from the Aegean part of Macedonia, belong to a small community of rare, genuine, long-standing citizens of the former metropolis of the Ottoman Empire.
