A documentary about Vasil Hadzimanov - a celebrated explorer of Macedonian folk songs and one of the first Macedonian researchers of ethnic music.
Director Information:
Dr. Misho Netkov was born in Skopje in 1950. He completed his primary education at O.U. Dame Gruev, high school in Gymnasium. Orce Nikolov and Faculty of Philosophy (1970–1974) in Skopje - group History of the Narodiya of Yugoslavia. He holds a Master's degree from UKIM-INI-Skopje on the topic: "MTV-treasury of collective memory". He holds a PhD from UKIM-INI on "Multiculturalism in National Electronic Media in the Balkans 1989-2008".
He has been working for the Macedonian Television since 1974 as a journalist in the Documentary Program.
He is the author of more than 400 TV documentaries (docs, docs, TV dramas, docs, essays...).

The documentary film "THE PHOENIX OF KAVADARCI" talks about the life path of Vasil Hadzimanov, who is one of the greatest and most persistent Macedonian researchers in the field of ethnomusicology, melography and folklore, and at the same time one of the top interpreters of the original Macedonian folk songs.
Many scientists and close people talk about his work. He died in Skopje in 1969, and his work was continued by his son Zafir and the grandson who bears his name.
